A military correspondent-propagandist of the St. Petersburg TV channel 78 (part of the Izvestia holding) was detained in Kronstadt, writes Sota, citing sources. Rodion Severyanov quarreled with a road worker and shot him in the head with a gas pistol.
A criminal case was initiated against him under the article on hooliganism with the use of weapons (part 2 of article 213 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation) – this is up to five years in prison.
Severyanov was reporting for Izvestia at the beginning of the war. In March, he was wounded , as he himself said, by a “Ukrainian sniper” – Izvestia published allegedly “exclusive footage of the wound.” For "courage and selflessness in the performance of professional duty," President Vladimir Putin awarded Severyanov the Order of Courage in May.
Izvestia has not yet commented on this event in any way, but, apparently, they have begun to remove references to the military correspondent in their Telegram channel. The Rotunda drew attention to this. So, one of the entries in Severyanov’s channel dated December 4 is a repost from the Izvestia channel, it talks about the attack of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on Donetsk with reference to a military correspondent. If you follow the link to the Izvestia channel, it turns out that the post was edited – someone removed the link to Severyanov.
The military commissar himself denies his detention.
"I'm home. I do my usual business. There is no criminal case. Today is a day off. Tomorrow I go to work – as always, ”he wrote in the channel.
