ASTRA: Residents of Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk wrote a denunciation of their Ukrainian friend, who, in a conversation with them, spoke out against Russian aggression

In Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk, a criminal case was opened against Ukrainian citizen Alexander V. under the article on “discrediting” the Russian army (part 1 of article 280.3 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation), writes ASTRA. The reason was his private conversation with Russian friends, which took place in the apartment of one of them.

According to ASTRA, the denunciation of Alexander was written by his own friends. He discussed Russian aggression against Ukraine with them and spoke out in support of the Ukrainian Azov regiment. The man, who has lived in Russia since 2013, has already been prosecuted this year for criticizing the Russian authorities. On June 29, he was fined 30,000 rubles for commenting on the Sakh.com website. According to ASTRA, Oleksandr is now in a pre-trial detention center on another case – about "attempted murder".

At the end of the summer, Roskomnadzor reported on the number of “complaints” received by the agency from Russians in the first six months of 2022. At that time, they had written 144,835 denunciations, most of which were related to the war in Ukraine, “fakes” about the Russian army, and “pro-Ukrainian propaganda.”
