Former history teacher from Komi, who is accused of justifying terrorism for a post about the explosion of the Crimean bridge, was sent to a pre-trial detention center

A court in Syktyvkar arrested history teacher Nikita Tushkanov until February 5. This is reported by the project "Network freedoms". Tushkanov is suspected of justifying terrorism on the Internet (Part 2 of Article 205.2 of the Criminal Code) and “discrediting” the actions of the Russian military in Ukraine (Part 1 of Article 280.3 of the Criminal Code). The reason for the first criminal case was Tushkanov's post on VKontakte about blowing up the Crimean bridge.

The meeting was held behind closed doors. On December 7, SOBR fighters and FSB officers came to the apartment of Tushkanov and his girlfriend in Syktyvkar with a search. According to Sever.Realii , only the case of justifying terrorism was considered.

On October 10, Tushkanov posted a photo of the destruction after rocket attacks on Ukrainian cities with the caption "Putin's fascism's revenge for the Crimean bridge."

To initiate a criminal case on “discrediting” the Russian army, one effective fine is required under a similar administrative article (20.3.3 of the Code of Administrative Offenses). Two such protocols were drawn up against Tushkanov for anti-war posts and fined 30,000 rubles.

In March 2021, Tushkanov was fired from the school where he taught history after a picket and posts in support of political prisoners. The dismissal order states that he committed an "immoral act."
