Activist of the “Council of Mothers and Wives” Svetlana Belova opened an administrative case on extremism

The police drew up a report on the distribution of extremist activists of the "Council of Mothers and Wives" Svetlana Belova, who was previously detained with other members of the movement in the Samara region. She spoke about this in the Telegram channel of the Council.

According to Belova, the reason for initiating the case was a post with a quote from the Jewish spiritual leader of Chabad, Menachem-Mendl Schneerson. She did not specify what the quote was, but stressed that in 2002 it was recognized as extremist in Russia. Belova said that the investigator called her case a "warning" for the "Council of Mothers and Wives." The trial will take place today, Belova faces a fine of up to three thousand rubles or up to 15 days of arrest.

Belova, as well as the head of the "Soviet" Olga Tsukanova and another activist were detained on the evening of December 8. Tsukanova managed to report that the traffic police stopped their car to check if it contained drugs. The women were taken to Police Department No. 34 in Syzran, Samara Region. According to Tsukanova, the detention is a response to the activities of the Council of Mothers and Wives. On the night of December 8-9, the activists were released from the police. After leaving the department, they found that the nipples were unscrewed from their car and, as a result, two wheels were flat. Tsukanova believes that this is the work of the police.
