The conflict occurred on December 10, according to Baza, the traffic cop Turpal Eskiev worked in the city center, a SOBR officer drove up close to him, began drifting and provoking him "because of old grievances." During the swearing, the fellow officer slapped the traffic cop, who in response opened fire into the air. After that, on December 11, the head of Chechnya, Ramzan Kadyrov, published an appeal to those who participated in the fight. He demanded from them now to fight with the Kadyrovites, or else they would be found and sent to fight in Ukraine.
