In Iran, another participant in the autumn rallies was publicly executed. He was 23

Iran executed 23-year-old protester Majid Reza Rahnavard. It is reported by Reuters. He was sentenced to death for "enmity against God" for the murder of two members of the security forces – he was publicly hanged in the holy Shiite city of Mashahd. Human rights activists have declared the crime of the Iranian regime, noting that the confessions were obtained by force.

“Rahnavard was sentenced to death on the basis of a forced confession, after a blatantly unfair legal process and a show trial. This crime must have serious consequences for the Islamic Republic,” Mahmoud Amiri-Moghaddam, head of Norway-based Iran Human Rights, tweeted.

On December 8, Iran executed Mohsen Shekari, the first of 11 protesters convicted of participating in anti-government rallies this fall.

Shekari was also accused of "enmity against God" for participating in the protests. On September 25, he blocked the main road in Tehran and stabbed a member of the civilian Basij militia. The activist himself stated that he was convicted after a "show trial without due process".

In September 2022, protests began in Iran over the death of 22-year-old activist Mahsa Amini, who was arrested by the vice police for violating the law on wearing the hijab (her hair was visible from under the headscarf). During the autumn protests, about 15 thousand people were arrested.
