The court sentenced Mundep Ketevan Kharaidze to four years in prison – Sota

The Tverskoy Court of Moscow sentenced Mundep Ketevan Kharaidze to 4 years in prison in a penal colony, a fine of 700 thousand rubles and banned him from holding positions in state bodies for two years after the term. She was taken into custody in the courtroom. Sota reports .

Also, 5 million rubles will be recovered from Kharaidze at the suit of the representative of the developer Oleg Stepanov.

The prosecutor asked for 6 years in prison for her on charges of conspiracy fraud (part 4 of article 159 of the Criminal Code) by extorting money from the developer Stone Hedge. Kharaidze allegedly promised him assistance in the conflict with the residents of the district. The deputy herself and her lawyer Mikhail Biryukov consider the case falsified.

Earlier in September, Kharaidze won elections in Moscow's Tver district while under house arrest. The message for her was published by her “support group”: “I am still a deputy of the Tverskoy district! Thanks to everyone who supported me, who believed and still believes! I will not fail!"

Kharaidze was arrested on June 19, 2021, a month after she announced her intention to run for the State Duma. A month later, she was transferred to house arrest. The investigation believes that Kharaidze prevented the commissioning of an elite residential complex in the Tverskoy district and thereby deprived citizens of the right to housing. She was charged with fraud (part 4 of article 159 of the Criminal Code). The deputy herself claims that the house was built with errors and she sought to have them corrected.

In 2021, while in a pre-trial detention center, Kharaidze handed over a letter stating that she had not been given water for a long time, despite the abnormal heat in Moscow. She went on a hunger strike to protest her arrest, later the lawyer said that Kharaidze stopped it.
