Rospotrebnadzor recommended not drinking molehills

Mole tinctures are dangerous to health, Rospotrebnadzor said . The agency issued a press release stating that moles are often infected with parasites and alcohol does not destroy pathogens.

The official Telegram channel of the department (the link is located on its website) says that moles become infected with worms when they eat insects, round, flat and tapeworms are found in the insides of moles. Also, due to external parasites, moles can be carriers of tularemia, which is transmitted to humans. At the same time, the alcohol medium of the tincture does not affect its “disinfection” in any way.

The main symptoms of tularemia are nausea, headache, insomnia, agitation or, conversely, lethargy. An increase in temperature to 38–39°C is also observed. “Consumption of products like moleworm can be fatal or cause disability,” the press release reads.

The reaction of Rospotrebnadzor appeared after memes about the mole fly began to be massively distributed on the network. It started with a post by a Twitter user who mentioned the experience of drinking the drink, followed by the posting of a recipe and video of a person drinking molehills.
