The security forces came with a search to the apartment of the mother of the publisher of "Mediazona" Pyotr Verzilov – Elena. This was reported by the Avtozak LIVE Telegram channel with reference to her friend, Nadezhda Tolokonnikova also spoke about this, Mediazona reports .
Now Elena Verzilova is not getting in touch. It is not known what exactly the search is connected with.
In early November, a case was opened against Verzilov under an article about “fake news” about the army for posts about the crimes of the Russian army in Bucha. The publisher was arrested in absentia and put on the international wanted list, pro-Kremlin Baza and Shot wrote. Earlier, because of the coverage of Russia's crimes in Bucha, politician Ilya Yashin was found guilty of spreading "fakes" about the Russian army and sentenced to 8.5 years in a penal colony.
In 2021, the Ministry of Internal Affairs put Verzilov on the wanted list due to "hiding Canadian citizenship."
