A court in Khabarovsk found a local resident guilty of treason for passing secret information to the special services of Ukraine. According to the press service of the FSB, Vyacheslav Mamukov was sentenced to 12 years and 6 months in prison in a strict regime colony.
The verdict has already entered into force.
According to investigators, Mamukov, who by the nature of his activity had access to state secrets, contacted representatives of a certain Ukrainian intelligence service via the Internet and offered them secret information in exchange for money. The FSB claims that it was "information constituting state and commercial secrets relating to transport infrastructure facilities."
The FSB report notes that Mamukov did not have time to realize his intentions. The case was brought under Art. 275 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (“Treason”).
Where and by whom the convict worked is not specified.
RIA Novosti published a video with the detention of a Khabarovsk citizen. The footage shows how people in civilian clothes enter the office, where a young man is sitting at a desk. This is followed by a fragment of the interrogation: a man behind the scenes asks about the contents of some documentation. “How much concrete we poured, how we tied rebar. <…> There are no hauls, there are only bridges. Thirty bridges,” the detainee replies.
The FSB reported about the detention of a resident of Khabarovsk for trying to transfer secret information to Ukraine in March. The suspect was not named at the time.
In September, a resident of Vladivostok was arrested on a similar charge. As RIA Novosti reported with reference to the FSB Public Relations Center, this person collected data on military facilities in Primorsky Krai and passed them on to Ukrainian intelligence.
An agency source claimed that the suspect photographed not only military, but also civilian infrastructure, including bridges to Russky Island and across the Golden Horn Bay.
According to OVD-Info, the detainee's name is Dmitry Kulikov.
At the same time, in September, the FSB announced the arrest of the quality director of the aviation plant, who was detained in the Moscow region. According to the intelligence service, he photographed fragments of drawings on a smartphone and sent them to a citizen of Ukraine, an employee of the Odessa Aviation Plant.
A case was also initiated against an employee of the aircraft factory under Art. 275 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (“Treason”).
