Former deacon Dmitry Baev, who spoke in support of Ukraine, was included in the list of terrorists

Rosfinmonitoring has included the former deacon of the Orthodox parish of the Church of John the Baptist in Kirov Dmitry Baev in the list of terrorists and extremists. Previously, he spoke in support of Ukraine.

After the outbreak of the war, Baev published posts on his VKontakte page in support of Ukraine and specifically the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He wrote that the Ukrainian army "sent 17,500 orcs to the next world," and also called the Russian military "occupiers." In March, a criminal case was opened against him on charges of spreading “fake news” about the Russian army (clause “e”, part 2 of article 207.3 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation). He refused to delete the publication, and Roskomnadzor blocked his page at the request of the Prosecutor General's Office.

“The purpose of the posts is the hope that before my page is blocked, at least one person will have time to get out of the dope of propaganda, or at least doubt it and begin to understand the real state of affairs, put things in order in his head, drawing the right conclusions,” said Baev in interview with Idel.Realities. On February 25, he resigned from the church and left Russia with his family. On March 11, he was banned from the priesthood, and in September he was "expelled from the priesthood."
