The website of the Vladimir edition of "Resonance" was blocked. The decision to block was made by the Kolchuginsky City Court of Vladimir at the request of the prosecutor's office.
Daniil Belyakov, editor-in-chief of Rezonans, told Argument that the reason for the blocking was the instruction on evading mobilization published on the website.
Belyakov himself left Russia this spring after a search in a criminal case of anti-war graffiti. In March, security officials came to him, his brother, journalist Vladimir Belyakov, and Kirill Alekseev, an assistant to a deputy of the Legislative Assembly of the Vladimir Region.
“During the subsequent interrogation, the security forces explicitly hinted that I could sit down. The police officers said they could help me find a job in IK-2 [correctional colony in Pokrov – ed. ed.]. Since I am engaged in media and human rights activities in Vladimir, and for this I need equipment, further stay in Russia may not be safe and may adversely affect my activities,” Belyakov said.
Investigative actions were carried out within the framework of a criminal case under the article on vandalism committed for ideological or political reasons (part 2 of article 214 of the Criminal Code).
Graffiti "No to war" appeared in the city in early March, at the time of the searches it had already been painted over by public utilities, Novaya Gazeta wrote . The publication "Argument" was the first to publish a photo of the drawing, journalists believe that because of this, they began to put pressure on the project.
