One of the most famous Iranian actress Taraneh Alidousti was detained for supporting the protesters

In Tehran, one of the most famous Iranian actresses, Tarane Alidousti, was detained for supporting the protesters. It is reported by The Guardian.

Alidusti was detained a few days after she published a post on her Instagram dedicated to the execution of 23-year-old demonstrator Mohsen Shekari. “Every international organization that watches this bloodshed and does not take any action is a disgrace to humanity,” the actress wrote. Previously, she also posted a photo of herself without a hijab and with a piece of paper that read "Women, Life, Freedom." This phrase has become the slogan of protesters against the conservative Iranian regime.

According to The Guardian, the official reason for Alidousti's detention was her "false and distorted reports provoking riots", as well as the fact that she did not provide "documents to support her claims." It is not known which department of Iran's multi-level security service carried out the arrest.

Director Samia Mirshamsi announced the arrest of the actress. According to her, Alidusti's house was also searched, her whereabouts are unknown. Alidusti's Instagram, which has over eight million followers, is now unavailable. The actress has previously spoken out with criticism of the Iranian authorities. In 2020, she was given a five-month suspended prison sentence for criticizing local police on Twitter.
