After the war, the demand for overseas real estate among Russians more than doubled

In 2022, the number of Russians buying overseas real estate has more than doubled. It is reported by Kommersant with reference to data from Prian낂ru.

“The proportion of those who bought a house by the sea to go there from time to time has decreased, now many are buying housing abroad for permanent residence,” Philip Berezin, editor-in-chief of Prian.ru, quoted the publication as saying.

Most often, Russians are interested in real estate in Turkey, the United Arab Emirates, Georgia, Montenegro, Thailand and Bulgaria. Almost 20% increased demand for apartments in Spain, Italy, Portugal and Greece.

Further demand for overseas real estate can be weakened by only one factor, experts say – the fluctuation of the ruble.
