"Oh, mother Russia, Sarmatushka is ready for battle." State Duma deputy from United Russia Denis Maidanov on the day of the Strategic Missile Forces (RVSN) presented a song about the Sarmat intercontinental missile with a rather uncomplicated text and rhymes in the spirit of "Sarmatushka" – "United States" – "adversary" – "zradushka" . Maidanov and Sergey Bazhenov, a producer from the Park Patriot Media company, called the composition about the new liquid-propellant intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM) 15A28 "Sarmat" a "gift". But, judging by the content, the song does not pull on a gift, but on Article 207.3 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation:
Public dissemination under the guise of reliable reports of deliberately false information containing data on the use of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation in order to protect the interests of the Russian Federation and its citizens, to maintain international peace and security.
The former general director of Roskosmos, Dmitry Rogozin, who is now fighting in Ukraine as part of the Tsarskie Wolves group of military advisers under the call sign – who would have thought – Sarmat, also had a hand in the text, so the song falls under the qualification of an act committed by a "group of persons , a group of persons by prior agreement or an organized group” (punishment in the form of a fine of up to 5 million rubles, or forced labor for up to 5 years, or imprisonment for up to 10 years).
Let's turn to the text of the song "Sarmatushka":
Bogatyr with complex electronics,
Happy to defend my homeland.
We are carefully in a steel container,
We lower our formidable Sarmat.
The complex of command devices is dormant,
A mighty charge awaits the team.
To strike the enemy of the hole,
Russian Sarmat is going.
We must start with the fact that Sarmat missiles cannot wait for any command, since they are simply not accepted for service. As part of the ICBM flight design test program, it was planned to conduct six launches: one in 2021 and five in 2022. In fact, only one launch has taken place so far on April 20, 2022 (instead of six), and at the same time Rogozin (still in the position of head of Roskosmos) announced that the rocket would be put into service “no later than the fall of this [2022] year.” Autumn has passed, the calendar winter has come, no news about Sarmat has appeared. Earlier, the Sarmat missile was promised to be put into service as early as 2018.
We listen further:
And the world bourgeoisie trembles,
On the way to hell.
And is on combat duty –
Our mighty handsome Sarmat.
Since the "Sarmat" was not put into service, therefore, this missile is not on combat duty either. Moreover, satellite images of positions for the first regiment of the Strategic Missile Forces with Sarmats in the Uzhur region (Krasnoyarsk Territory) show that the necessary infrastructure will be completed at best during 2023, and deployment will most likely begin in 2024-2025.
Finally, here's a couplet:
US missile defense is not a hindrance to him,
He is not afraid of sanctions.
For Sarmat, there is only one joy –
Disturb NATO's dreams.
In Russia, publications are regularly published about the fear that "Sarmat" inspires in the Americans. Typical headline: Military expert explains US panic over Russian Sarmat missile. The Americans themselves do not consider the Sarmat a finished product, do not see any threat in its testing to either themselves or their allies, and also constantly remind that the Sarmat falls under the current START III treaty (moreover, Russia carefully complies with its provisions and plans to show the missile American inspection). With such introductory words, the Sarmat threat to the American missile defense system is out of the question.
After the premiere, Denis Maidanov wrote on Telegram:
Not only as a musician, but also as the First Deputy Chairman of the Committee on Culture of the State Duma of the Russian Federation, I understand very well that at the moment when real hostilities are going on, an ideological weapon is also needed, which is this clip. I hope that our opponents will get acquainted with this work and once again think about the senselessness of talking with our country in the language of force, and I also hope that this will help cool the hot heads of foreign politicians who are fanning a third world war.
But Dmitry Rogozin, obviously, as a person more competent in military affairs compared to the singer and deputy Maidanov, after thinking, deleted the following message from the Telegram channel:
