RIA Novosti and other pro-Kremlin outlets wrote about the article in the Chinese tabloid Global Times. According to her, the Russian-Ukrainian war is being artificially dragged out by Washington, and "the responsibility for the continuation of the Ukrainian crisis lies with certain American structures":
“Four major groups in the US — the military conglomerate group, the energy group, the financial group and the digital oligarchy — are not satisfied with the profits and military dividends used from the conflict in Ukraine,” the expert noted.
According to Chinese experts, Washington's goals are: "to comprehensively weaken Russia, stabilize the Zelensky regime and push Europe to follow US policy."
In addition, as the article says, Russia is "forced to use nuclear weapons." Of course, not a word was said about the Kremlin's military aggression.
All these statements are not new and it simply does not make sense to expose them once again. However, the same Chinese newspaper that is quoted by the pro-Kremlin media is of interest (and the Global Times now appears in Russian news almost every day).
This newspaper is part of the propaganda pool of the Chinese Communist Party, but is among them the most odious and ultra-nationalist. In October 2021, the Global Times published an article in English warning that it would take action to occupy Taiwan, and used the wording "final solution" on Twitter, shocking German politicians. During the pandemic, a Chinese newspaper spread numerous fakes related to COVID-19 and vaccination through Facebook posts and targeted ads.
In October 2015, the Global Times used a fake quote when retelling a speech by Harvard University China expert Roderick MacFarquhar who spoke at a conference on Marxism in Beijing. Macfawar said that Chinese leader Xi Jinping's talk of the so-called Chinese Dream "was not the intellectually coherent, robust and broad philosophy needed to counter Western ideas." According to a Chinese newspaper, his speech said that the "Chinese Dream" would "make a great contribution and have a positive impact on the development of mankind." Later, when the scandal erupted, GTapologized to the professor and edited the material.
It is striking that the newspaper does not deny, but justifies the existence of camps for Uyghurs in Xinjiang (unlike the Chinese government). As for the Russian invasion of Ukraine, Global Times repeats almost all the fake Russian propaganda – from biolabs to rallies in Europe , which are directed against the economic crisis, however, according to Russian and Chinese propagandists, they condemn Western aid to Ukraine.
