80% of the Kyiv region remains without electricity due to damage to infrastructure after shelling

The head of the Kyiv Regional Military Administration Oleksiy Kuleba announced the critical situation with electricity supply in the region.

“As a result of large-scale damage to the energy infrastructure, Ukrenergo applies emergency power outages. Without electricity 80% of the region. The most difficult situation is in Buchansky, Vyshgorodsky, Obukhovsky and partially Fastovsky districts. These are more than 30 communities,” Kuleba wrote on his Telegram channel.

Kuleba stressed that the restoration work continues. Critical infrastructure facilities such as hospitals, as well as heating and water supply facilities are prioritized.

Earlier, the mayor of Kyiv Vitaliy Klitschko said that the movement of trains on the lines of the city subway was restored in full. In addition, according to him, the work of the water supply systems of the capital has been restored.

On the night of December 19, the Russians attacked the Kyiv region and the capital with kamikaze drones. Infrastructure facilities and private houses were damaged. Three people were injured.

18 out of 23 drones were shot down over Kyiv. In the capital, debris damaged the roadway in the Solomensky district and the windows of a high-rise building in Shevchenkovsky.
