Hundreds of Yandex.Food couriers working in Moscow and St. Petersburg have announced a five-day strike. The action will begin today and end on December 25, according to the trade union "Courier".
Thus, couriers want to increase wages, conclude employment contracts, revise the system of fines, introduce additional payments for processing and reduce delivery zones.
“Only through organization, collective struggle and mass strikes can business and the state be forced to improve the situation of all workers,” the union said in a statement.
The trade union of couriers warns that during the action, Yandex.Food employees will sabotage the work of restaurants and cafes, delaying queues at the checkouts. According to Kommersant, about 600 couriers will take part in the action.
