The State Border Service of Ukraine confirmed the attack on the restaurant where the former head of Roscosmos Dmitry Rogozin was wounded and said that this was a “notice” to Rogozin about illegal border crossing.
“The border guards could not personally hand over the protocol to the violator, so this person was handed over to this person during the celebration of his birthday by caring comrades. The Border Service urges Russians not to violate Ukrainian legislation, responsibility will definitely come!” — said in the message.
Rogozin was taken from Donetsk to the military clinical hospital in Rostov-on-Don. He is being treated and his life is not in danger.
Rogozin's assistant said that the persons accompanying him were also injured, in particular, the chairman of the "government of the DPR" Vitaly Khotsenko.
Baza reports that a total of two people were killed during the shelling of the restaurant, and five more were injured.
At the time of the shelling, Rogozin was in the Shesh-Besh restaurant on the first floor of the hotel. There he, according to media reports, celebrated his birthday.
