“The war will stop when Putin withdraws the troops.” Biden and Zelensky held a press conference, the United States allocated another $1.85 billion to Ukraine

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and US President Joe Biden held a press conference. It was broadcast by American TV channels and radio stations on YouTube .

When asked when the war will end and there will be a "just peace", Biden replied:

“The war will stop when Putin withdraws his troops. And we will help the Ukrainians on the battlefield. Putin thought he would divide Ukraine, undermine the West, but he was wrong. I hope he realizes soon that he can't win."

According to him, then Zelensky will already decide how he will end this war on his own terms. He recalled that Ukraine was able to push back Russian troops from Kyiv, Kharkov and part of the Kherson region. Putin still does not want to end the war, the American president stressed. He thanked the US Congress for the spending project, which provides $45 billion in additional funding for the needs of Ukraine.

Biden also announced a new $1.85 billion aid package for Ukraine. The White House's Twitter account states that the United States will support Ukraine for as long as it takes.

Zelensky also answered questions related to the war during the conference. So, when asked what Zelensky would like to convey to Putin, the President of Ukraine said that there was no point in contacting him. He recalled that in 2019 there was a meeting in the Normandy format, and there were also attempts to resolve the conflict. Putin himself lied that there would be no attack, and he lied, Zelensky stressed.

“Why now turn to a person with a sick attitude to reality? He is no longer a subject of the civilized world."

Putin himself should be interested in saving something that "remained from the culture" of Russia, said the President of Ukraine.

Following the meeting, Zelensky said on the Telegram channel that the key issue of all today's negotiations is the strengthening of Ukraine, next year and the country's movement towards victory in the war for independence. He thanked Biden, adding that after 300 days of war, a new stage began in relations between Ukraine and the United States.
