Ivan Kudryashov, the author of street art “X * th War”, spoke about torture and falsification of evidence in his case

Tver activist Ivan Kudryashov, the author of street art “X * th War”, who is in jail on charges of preparing to set fire to a military registration and enlistment office, reported torture and falsification of the case. This is reported by the human rights project "Solidarity Zone" with reference to a lawyer.

Kudryashov told the defense lawyer that after his arrest, before the first interrogation and repeatedly between subsequent interrogations, he was tortured with electric shocks in order to get the password to his phone and force him to sign a confession. According to the activist, operatives were engaged in torture, but the investigator Erofeev S.V. knew about it.

Kudryashov also said that officers of the FSB in the Tver region planted Molotov cocktails on him during his arrest. In the search report, he indicated that he had nothing to do with the found incendiary mixtures, wrote by hand: "This is not mine."

During interrogations, Kudryashov openly expressed his anti-war position. Solidarity Zone quotes from the interrogation protocol:

“I participate in anti-war protests because I do not agree that the Ukrainian issue can only be resolved by military means, I am categorically against the war that the Russian Federation unleashed, I believe that this mobilization should be sabotaged.”

Posters with the inscription "X * th war" appeared at bus stops in the center of Tver on May 1.

The activist was arrested on 30 September. According to investigators, he planned to set fire to the military registration and enlistment office. He was charged with “preparing to commit a terrorist act” (part 1 of article 30, part 1 of article 205 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation), under this article he could face imprisonment of up to 11 years and 3 months. All this time, Kudryashov has been kept in solitary confinement, although, according to the law “On Detention,” the placement of suspects and accused in solitary confinement for more than a day is allowed only on a reasoned decision of the head of the SIZO, sanctioned by the prosecutor.
