The Ministry of Education approved the military training program for grades 10-11

The Ministry of Education of Russia approved the introduction of a military training program for students in grades 10-11. This is stated in the order of the department, published on the official portal of legal information.

Military training will take place as part of the program of lessons on the basics of life safety. They will teach schoolchildren to provide first aid, handle a Kalashnikov assault rifle, and also understand the principle of operation of the F-1 and RGD-5 grenades. In the updated school curriculum, the History of Russia course will include lessons about the war in Ukraine. At them, schoolchildren will talk about the "importance of Russia in the world political and socio-economic processes", as well as about "the achievements of the country and its people."

The order was signed by Russian Minister of Education Sergey Kravtsov. Russian schools will have to switch to the new curriculum by September 1, 2023. In it, among other things, the extracurricular subject "Conversations about the important" has been preserved. On it, children are instilled with “patriotic values”. The lesson is not obligatory to attend, but the media has repeatedly published information about the threats that schoolchildren and their parents face in case of non-attendance.
