In Paris, the second day of unrest continues after the murder of the Kurds. Police arrested 11 people

In Paris, the police detained 11 rioters, which turned into demonstrations in memory of the Kurds killed the day before near the Kurdish cultural center. This is reported by the French newspaper Le Monde. Protesters overturned and set fire to cars, threw stones and other objects at police officers. The police used tear gas.

Hundreds of members of the Kurdish community in France, outraged by the killing of three Kurds, gathered today at the Place de la République in central Paris. Initially, the protesters intended to denounce the murder, which was allegedly motivated by racial hatred. The peaceful action again turned into riots.

On Friday, a 69-year-old Frenchman opened fire on rue Enghien in Paris. Three members of the Kurdish community were killed and three others were injured. The suspect was arrested, prosecutors said the man's actions may have a "racist motive". The man had previously committed murder attempts, including in a migrant camp in 2016 and 2021.

The Kurdish Democratic Center in France condemned the attack. A representative of the center said that the French authorities "again failed to protect" the Kurds living in their country, reports the BBC.

Shortly after the December 23 shooting, protests began in the Kurdish center area.
