The mayor's office of Saratov published an obituary dedicated to Boris Aleksandrovich Botsmanov, who died in the war in Ukraine. It was also the name of a 32-year-old prisoner, who in 2018 was sentenced to 19 years in a strict regime colony on charges of double murder with special cruelty in order to hide another crime (paragraphs “a”, “e”, “k” part 2 article 105 of the Criminal Code). The verdict was issued by the Saratov Regional Court.
One of the authors of the obituary is the governor of the Saratov region Roman Busargin. He writes about the valor and courage of Botsmanov: “On the battlefield, he showed an example of exceptional courage and courage. We will be proud of the brave deed of our fellow countryman and will keep his memory for many years to come. I express my deepest condolences to the families and friends of the deceased soldier."
The obituary was also signed by the head of Saratov, Lada Mokrousova. “He did not spare his life for the sake of the future of our country and did everything to ensure that this future was peaceful. It is impossible to describe all the pain and bitterness of the loss that we share with the relatives and friends of Boris Aleksandrovich Botsmanov. I offer them my most sincere condolences. The memory of the hero will forever remain in our hearts,” she writes.
The fact that Botsmanov is the full namesake of the killer was noticed by Taiga.Info. In 2018, he was drinking with his friend and his girlfriend, and at one point a conflict broke out between them. Botsmanov took a knife and inflicted death blows on the chest of the man, after which he stabbed the woman with two blows to the chest and neck.
