In the US, the second day continues the strongest snow storm. At least 28 dead, millions without electricity, hundreds of flights canceled

A powerful winter storm with squally winds and heavy snowfall swept most of the United States, which is home to about 250 million people. At least 28 people died due to the effects of the blizzard. It is reported by NBC.

Deaths have been recorded in Oklahoma, Wisconsin, Kansas, Kentucky, Colorado, Missouri, Michigan, Nebraska, New York, Ohio and Tennessee. More than one and a half million people in the country were left without electricity, hundreds of flights were canceled last Friday.

Much of Canada was also in the grip of a winter storm. In Ontario and Quebec, severe frosts have led to power outages in homes where hundreds of thousands of people live.

Residents of Buffalo, a city in upstate New York, faced the most severe consequences of the storm. Due to the power outage, people are unable to heat their homes, but also unable to move around the city. Because of the hurricane wind and snow, it is impossible to do this, the cars in the city are stuck. The airport is closed until Monday.

In many cities roads and sidewalks are completely iced over.
