The co-owner of “Winter Cherry” increased the fine to 70 million rubles

The court several times increased the amount of the fine for the co-owner of the Zimnyaya Vishnya shopping and entertainment center Vyacheslav Vishnevsky, who was sentenced to 8 years for giving a bribe during the construction of a shopping center.

“The court decided to change the sentence, imposed an additional punishment on Vishnevsky in the form of a fine of 10 times the amount of the bribe – up to 70 million rubles,” the Kemerovo Regional Court said in a panel of judges.

Earlier, Vishnevsky was sentenced to a fine of 21 million rubles.

Vishnevsky's lawyer said the defense had not yet decided whether to file a complaint against the court's decision, but noted that the increase in the fine to 70 million rubles was "an unbearable amount" for Vishnevsky.

The fire in the Zimnyaya Cherry shopping center occurred on March 25, 2018, killing 60 people, 37 of them children.
