Yulia Galyamina was fired from the RANEPA due to the status of a “foreign agent”

Politics Yulia Galyamina was fired from the post of associate professor at the Department of Theory and Practice of Media Communications at the Institute of Social Sciences of the RANEPA due to the status of a “foreign agent”. She wrote about it on Facebook.

She noted that the assignment of the status of "foreign agent", among other things, violates her labor rights, since she is a teacher who is now unable to teach.

The law on "foreign agents" prohibits educational or pedagogical activities in state organizations. “It seems that this is the first case of dismissal of a foreign agent after the adoption of a new discriminatory law,” Galamina notes.

According to her, in recent years she taught academic writing – "a subject in which students received the skills of scientific thinking: thinking critically, reasoned, able to see a scientific problem and look for ways to solve it." “Apparently, this seems very dangerous to our authorities when people are able to think independently and think armed with scientific skills,” writes Galyamina.

She noted that now her attention will be focused on social and political activities. “The authorities have done everything so that I now have more time for her,” the politician wrote.

Yulia Galyamina was recognized as a "foreign agent" in early September. In December, following the introduction of new restrictions on "foreign agents," she challenged her status in court, but to no avail.
