Yevgeny Teterin, the leader of the Sverdlovsk branch of the Union of Russian Paratroopers, is accused of mediating a bribe. The case against him was initiated in the fall of 2021. The investigation alleges that he and the director of the Uralshcheben company tried to transfer a bribe to an employee of the Federal Tax Service (FTS) in order to hide environmental damage. We are talking about damage in the amount of 400 million rubles inflicted by "Uralshchebny" on the Shabrovsky quarry. The head of the quarry was also detained, who, according to investigators, gave Teterin part of the bribe for an employee of the Federal Tax Service.
Teterin was in a pre-trial detention center until this summer, but later the punishment was changed to a written undertaking not to leave. On December 7, the first hearing in his case was to be held at the Verkh-Isetsky District Court of Yekaterinburg, but he did not attend. It turned out that the paratrooper went "on a business trip" to the Donbass.
Judge Yulia Merkulova claims that it was the initiative of Tatyana Merzlyakova, Commissioner for Human Rights in the Sverdlovsk Region. She, in turn, said that Teterin was returning from the front mistakenly mobilized fathers of many children. She called mobilization "the most important reason a person might not come to a preliminary hearing."
The court considers that Teterin's departure is not a violation of the subscription, as it is connected with a “good reason”. On December 29, another hearing on his case was to be held, but the court postponed it to April 14. At this time, Teterin's service contract ends.
