“Until the waves go to the bottom.” Putin does not speak to reporters because he is being protected from coronavirus, Peskov said

Vladimir Putin refrains from direct communication with journalists, even from the Kremlin pool, as he is protected from coronavirus and flu, said presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov. According to him, there will be no such communication as before, until “the waves go to the bottom point.”

“It is unlikely that it <communication> will be exactly the same as it was before the pandemic in the foreseeable future. There is nothing to hide sin. You see the processes of virus mutation, strong epidemiological waves of influenza. In total, taking into account the lessons of the pandemic, it obliges those responsible for the security of the president and for his health to take precautions, because in such conditions the health of the president is a matter of state security. To say that soon it will be like before would be wrong. The answer is – it won't. But as these waves go to the lowest point, then it will be possible to communicate in a more free mode, ”Peskov said.

Earlier, Peskov said that Putin went to the "Northern Military District" zone.

Recall that Putin canceled a number of traditional annual events in 2022. This is a “direct line”, during which he answers questions from the population, a press conference where journalists ask questions and a message to the Federal Assembly. The latter must be held annually in accordance with the Constitution.
