The Russian Defense Ministry acknowledged that as a result of a missile attack by the Armed Forces of Ukraine (APU) on the building of vocational school No. 19 in Makeyevka, Lugansk region, where Russian servicemen were stationed, 63 soldiers were killed. “During the missile strike of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on Makiivka in the DPR, 63 Russian servicemen were killed. All necessary assistance and support will be provided to the relatives and friends of the servicemen who died in Makiivka.”
TASS reported with reference to the law enforcement agencies of the so-called DPR that the reason for the strike on the building of the vocational school, where the Russian military was stationed, was their high "cellular activity". Representatives of the "DPR" confirmed the information about the strike, but claimed that 15 people were injured.
According to the Ministry of Defense, Russian troops occupied "new profitable frontiers" as a result of an offensive in the Donetsk direction. What kind of "favorable frontiers" is not specified.
