The French engineering group Gaztransport & Technigaz (GTT) has announced that it is ending its operations in Russia. GTT is the largest manufacturer of containers for the transport of liquefied natural gas.
The latest European sanctions packages include a ban on the provision of engineering services to Russian firms. It was the analysis of the latest sanctions that influenced the decision of the GTT. Starting January 8, the company's contract with the Russian shipbuilding company Zvezda for the supply of 15 icebreaking LNG carriers will be suspended. GTT will complete the project of only two of them – work on them has advanced the most.
After the start of the war unleashed by Vladimir Putin against Ukraine, the world's largest companies left Russia. Russia was left without popular brands of clothing, household chemicals and software.
