For the first time in history, the Armed Forces of Ukraine entered the top 15 armies of the world in the Global Firepower (GFP) ranking. A year ago, Ukraine ranked 22nd. This year, the Armed Forces of Ukraine outstripped the armies of Iran, Israel, Australia, Saudi Arabia, Spain, Taiwan and Germany.
“Ukraine has improved its GFP index over the past year as a result of its opposition to Russia, material support from the West and the introduction of new key parameters. 2023 will be a critical year for the Russian-Ukrainian conflict," the commentary on Ukraine's position in the ranking says.
Earlier today it became known that the United States will send Sea Sparrow anti-aircraft missiles to Ukraine, which it can modify for Soviet Buk launchers.
On the eve it was reported that Germany was close to the decision to supply Ukraine with infantry fighting vehicles. In addition, Germany will supply Patriot air defense systems to Ukraine, in addition to a similar supply from the United States.
