Soldiers of the National Guard shot six Russian soldiers who wanted to surrender to Ukraine. This is reported by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in its daily report.
According to the agency, Russia sent the National Guard to the Zaporozhye region. This was done "to maintain military discipline and prevent the spread of panic among the personnel." The execution took place on January 5 near the village of Chistopolye in the Tokmak region. The Russian side at the time of writing the news did not comment on this information.
Earlier, “Putin’s chef” Yevgeny Prigozhin said that desertion is the main “sin”: “No one backs down, no one retreats, no one surrenders. When you are instructed on surrendering, you will be told about two grenades that you should have with you. <…> For those who arrive and on the first day say: “Somewhere I didn’t go there”, we make a mark “deserter”, and after that execution follows.” They also shoot commanders whose soldiers have deserted. This happened to the convicted Viktor Sevalnev, who commanded the 7th motorized rifle company of the so-called people's militia of the "LNR".
