Residents of St. Petersburg receive calls on behalf of the PMC Wagner and are offered to join their ranks in order to fight against the "fascists" or to support the mercenaries financially. Writes about it "Here it is".
One of the interlocutors of the publication said that her 53-year-old father received a call on January 3. He holds the rank of lieutenant, works as an ambulance doctor and has a valid mobilization reservation. The caller introduced himself as "Valera" and said that "hands are needed." It is noteworthy that his number was not hidden, but disappeared from the call history after the conversation. Another Vot Tak interlocutor, a 23-year-old young man, says that he received a call before the New Year. The caller said that "we have a holy war with fascists and fagots." He offered to come to the "PMC Wagner Center" and "repay the debt to the motherland or help with something." At the end of the conversation, the caller added: "Nobody threatens you, but keep in mind – we live in the same city."
On the same day, another resident of St. Petersburg, a 22-year-old student, received a call. The caller used almost the same lines as in the case of the previous interlocutor "Vot Tak". After the conversation, the young man punched the number and found out that it belongs to a certain Alexander. He contacted him, and Alexander said that he had nothing to do with the Wagner PMC.
PMC Wagner claims that they do not make any calls. On January 5, a group of mercenaries on VKontakte publisheda post saying that this was the work of scammers:
“If you receive calls on Viber on our behalf, these are scammers! Unfortunately, this program allows you to make replacement numbers. We ask you not to forget that a fierce information war is being waged now, do not succumb to provocations!”
