Chairman of the Investigative Committee (IC) of Russia Alexander Bastrykin instructed to open a criminal case against actor Artur Smolyaninov. It is reported by RIA Novosti.

In October, Smolyaninov was fined 30,000 rubles in the case of “discrediting” the army. For what kind of statement, it was not reported. Smolyaninov has repeatedly spoken out about Russia's invasion of Ukraine. In an interview with Meduza on October 17, he commented on the news that a case had been opened against him. Then he said that for him there are no laws of the state, since they are criminal and "have neither moral nor legal force." In April, Katerina Gordeeva's YouTube channel published an interview with the actor, where he stated that he opposed the war unleashed by Russia. After the interview was released, Smolyaninov was expelled from projects with state funding, he left Russia.
