Georgia refused to return the Buk complexes to Kyiv, which Ukraine gave it in 2008

Kyiv asked Georgia at the beginning of the war to return the Buk complexes that the Ukrainians handed over to the country during the hostilities of 2008, but the Georgian government refused to do so. This is stated in the article of the Chargé d'Affaires of Ukraine in Georgia, Andrey Kasyanov, published in European Pravda.

Ukraine also asked to transfer Javelin anti-tank systems, which Georgia was given by the United States, but was also refused, despite the fact that the United States offered to replace them with newer systems.

According to Kasyanov, Ukraine does not want this issue to be used in internal political disputes, and is not trying to drag Georgia into a war with Russia.

“Also, there are no significant disagreements between Ukraine and Georgia regarding mutual political support in the international arena, including the de-occupation of sovereign territories,” Kasyanov added in his article.

On December 6, Kasyanov already stated that Georgia does not provide military assistance to Ukraine and does not respond to a request for help with generators. The Georgian authorities responded that if they started transferring weapons to Ukraine, it would automatically make them a "side of the war."
