SBU seizes property of ex-Minister of Education Tabachnik for $2 million, he is suspected of treason

The Security Service of Ukraine has arrested the property of ex-Minister of Education and Science Dmitry Tabachnik suspected of treason for more than $2 million, the SBU reported on its Telegram channel.

According to the service, in order to hide his fortune from confiscation, Tabachnik transferred it to his relatives in advance. Among the seized property is half of an apartment in the historical part of Kyiv with an area of ​​126 sq. m, a residential building with an area of ​​more than 600 sq. m, five land plots in an elite cottage town near Kyiv for 1 hectare, as well as a bank account for $147,000.

In November 2022, Tabachnik was suspected of treason. According to the investigation, he helped the Russians in the occupied territories of the Kherson and Zaporozhye regions. He is hiding from the Ukrainian authorities in Russian-occupied Crimea. Now the ex-minister faces from 15 years in prison to life imprisonment with confiscation of property.
