Anti-war activist Igor Paskar, who threw a Molotov cocktail at the front door of the FSB building in Krasnodar, told the court about how he was tortured by FSB officers during his arrest. The recording of the court session The Insider broadcast the human rights project "Solidarity Zone" , which provides legal and humanitarian assistance to those arrested for anti-war actions.
As Pascar told the court, he did not make any attempts to escape or prevent the arrest. After the activist threw a Molotov cocktail at the FSB building and applied blue and yellow paint to his face, he was immediately detained by the police, handcuffed and taken to the courtyard.
“There were about six or eight people in civilian clothes. They took a picture of me on the phone. This photo is in the file. On it I have no bodily harm. Then I was asked why I did it? I replied that I would like to use Article 51 of the Constitution on the right not to testify against oneself. Apparently, this amused them, because the next moment a bag was put on my head, ”said Pascar.
He added that the next few hours were some of the scariest of his life.
The man's hands were handcuffed behind his back, they were raised so that his head dropped to the level of his belt. In this position and with a bag on his head, the activist was taken into the building, led into a room and thrown to the floor. After that they started beating me with their feet.
“They put a grenade or its dummy in my hands and said that they would pull out the pin, put a barrel to my head and began to threaten that they would shoot. After that, rings were put on the middle fingers of both hands and current discharges began to pass. Moreover, someone very heavy in weight sat on top of me so that I could not escape. At first, they didn't ask me anything. See how long I can take.
I began to scream. And I didn't always succeed. I was so squeezed from above that I could not breathe. As a result, I lost consciousness twice. They lowered my pants and with a rubber object, apparently a dildo, they tried to penetrate into the rectum. There was a bag on my head. But by external sounds, I realized that I was being photographed in this position. Perhaps they wanted to blackmail me in the future, ”said Pascar.
Later, according to the activist, he was taken with a bag over his head to the investigator Yury Zakharchenko, who opened a criminal case under the article on terrorism.
The man told the court that from a young age he was not indifferent to what was happening in the country. He decided to hold an anti-war action to attract attention, and there could be no talk of any planning of human sacrifices, which the prosecution ascribes to him.
“My action, purely peaceful, was supposed to show all the opponents of this monstrous war that they are not alone, that not everyone here is zombified by propaganda,” the activist said.
46-year-old Igor Paskar was detained in mid-June 2022. After he threw a "Molotov cocktail" at the front door of the FSB building on Mira Street in Krasnodar, and from this the rug near the entrance caught fire. A small fire was extinguished by employees of the department.
At the end of November, the Southern District Military Court in Rostov-on-Don began to consider the case, but due to technical problems, the first session on the merits did not take place until 9 January.
Pascar is also accused of setting the Z-banner on fire. The charges were brought under the articles "terrorist act" and "vandalism". He faces 10 to 15 years in prison.
