Damaged “Soyuz MS-22” will go to Earth without a crew

Roskosmos will return to Earth the Soyuz MS-22 spacecraft docked to the International Space Station, on which an accident occurred in December. He will fly unmanned.

The Roscosmos message notes that the expedition of the cosmonauts who were supposed to return to Earth from the ISS on it is being extended: Sergey Prokopiev, Dmitry Petelin and astronaut Francisco Rubio will go to Earth on another ship, the Soyuz MS-23, which will arrive on The ISS is already in February.

In mid-December, a depressurization of the external contour of the radiator of the thermal control system occurred on the Soyuz MS-22 spacecraft. According to the preliminary version, this happened due to the impact of a micrometeorite. According to representatives of the press service of Roskosmos, the diameter of the hole in the radiator is less than a millimeter.
