One of the defendants in the New Greatness case, Pyotr Karamzin, was released from IK-4 in the Belgorod Region, Sota reports.
Sota writes that Karamzin was taken to a neighboring region under escort of the security forces, explaining this by the fact that he is an “extremist”. In a commentary from the car, he tells the journalist of the publication that he wants to learn 3D printing and become a lawyer.
In 2020, Karamzin was sentenced to six and a half years in prison on charges of organizing an extremist community (part 1 of article 282.1 of the Criminal Code). Then his term was reduced by three months and the time he spent in the pre-trial detention center was credited.
The defendants in the New Greatness case were detained in March 2018. The investigation believes that they were allegedly preparing for a constitutional coup and the subsequent seizure of power. The defense stated that a certain Ruslan D., who proposed to create a movement, provoked the accused and was a provocateur from the special services.
