According to the official version of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, on January 1, as a result of a HIMARS strike on a vocational school building in Makeevka, 89 people were killed. On January 9, the military commissar of the Samara region, Alexei Vdovin, announced that the lists of the dead would not be published, since these data "may be used by foreign intelligence."
