German Defense Minister Christina Lambrecht has decided to resign of her own free will, Bild writes , citing several sources.
The question of the date of resignation has not yet been resolved, the government is looking for a new candidate for the position of head of the military department, the newspaper notes.
Lambrecht was reproached for insufficient support for Kyiv. She was also blamed for delaying the reform of the army, for the lack of ammunition and missiles in German military depots. The last time she was criticized for the New Year's video with the results of the year, which she published on Instagram. “War is raging in the middle of Europe. And that meant for me a lot of special experiences that I was able to get. Many, many meetings with interesting, wonderful people, ”says the head of the Ministry of Defense in the video. The federal government did not comment on this statement.
