The forensic expert Mungiev A.A. resigned and concluded that Zarema Musayeva harmed the health of the policeman. Musaeva's son, lawyer Abubakar Yangulbaev, announced this.
According to him, this became known on January 13, when Mungiev failed to appear in court for the second time in a row. “I suspect he didn’t quit, but he was fired,” Yangulbaev writes. He points out that Mungiev, on the orders of the authorities, falsified the initial examination in favor of policeman Magomed Abdulkhamidov. He claims that Musayeva scratched his face when she was being taken to Grozny. According to Yangulbaev, there are no photographs of the injuries received in the case, and Mungiev made many mistakes in his conclusion.
In mid-December, an independent examination brought in by Musayeva's lawyers found that Abdulkhamidov had no reported injuries. The “Team Against Torture” asked that the conclusion of the examination be attached to the case file, but the prosecutor objected. The meeting was adjourned until the police officer arrived. On January 12, the Supreme Court of Chechnya refused to satisfy the CPT's appeal, leaving Musaeva in a pre-trial detention center.
Her case began on January 20, 2022. On that day, Chechen security forces broke into the Nizhny Novgorod apartment of Musaeva and her husband, retired federal judge Saidi Yangulbaev. They were unable to kidnap him because of the judicial immunity status, but they did kidnap Musayeva. The security forces said that she was allegedly a witness in a fraud case. During the detention, Musayeva lost consciousness. She was taken to Grozny and placed in a pre-trial detention center. She has been there for almost a year.
