The family of a 32-year-old man, mobilized at the end of September from Zauralsky, Chelyabinsk region, turned to a local deputy with a demand to investigate the cause of death of a relative.
In addition, relatives had to bury the man on credit, because the family spent all the money on buying food and uniforms when sending him to the unit, according to the website of the regional branch of the Just Russia – Patriots – For Truth party.
Yevgeny Duz, a foreman in a workshop at a marble processing plant, was mobilized on 27 September. Two months later, he was taken to a Chelyabinsk hospital in serious condition, where he died a month later. Eugene left behind a wife and three sons: the eldest is 18 years old, the middle one is 11 and the youngest is eight.
Yevgeny Duz felt unwell almost immediately after mobilization. According to his relatives, he called his wife and complained that he was forced to participate in drills with a temperature. Then, according to a colleague, his phone was stolen.
On November 22, the man was sent to the Chelyabinsk Infectious Diseases Hospital. The family was informed about the hospitalization only after the mobilized person stopped regaining consciousness. His wife was not allowed. On December 30, the man died.
Relatives were told that the man had pulmonary edema. They never received a death certificate.
In addition, according to family members, they had no money left for the funeral after buying food and uniforms. The relatives of the mobilized had to borrow from friends in order to bury Yevgeny. The wife of the deceased did not receive payments from the Ministry of Defense.
The mobilized was trained in a military unit in Elani near Yekaterinburg.
