The court escort beat the author of the “Protest Moscow State University” Dmitry Ivanov and threatened him with rape

Dmitry Ivanov, the author of the Protest MSU Telegram channel, was beaten by a guard after a court session. This was reported by the support group of the activist "Prison Moscow State University" and his lawyer Maria Eismont.

According to the Prison Moscow State University, the escort beat Ivanov with a club on the head and ribs, tightened the handcuffs on his wrists to bruises, and also threatened him with rape. Ivanov himself told Eismont that after the court session, the guard turned off the body camera, took him to the toilet and tried to dip his head into the toilet. The activist began to resist, in response to which the guard pressed him to the floor, beat him and threatened that he would “put a stick into his anus”.

According to Ivanov, another employee of the court watched the beating. He took no action. The escort stopped beating Ivanov only after the third officer, a senior lieutenant, told him to "finish it." According to Eismont, the escort acted in such a way as to “leave no traces” of the beating. As a result, in the medical unit of the SIZO, Ivanov was diagnosed with only small bruises on his wrists.

Eismont said that the escort's actions were probably a response to Ivanov's "disobedience". At the end of the meeting, he waited for the lawyer to finish with the judge, and wanted to ask her about the upcoming visit. At that moment, the escort “rather rudely” burst into the aquarium to the activist. Ivanov asked to give him two minutes, but the guard twisted his hands and took him away.

23-year-old Ivanov is accused of spreading "fakes" about the Russian army (clause "d" part 2 of article 207.3 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation). The reason was the publication of Protest MGU about the genocide in Bucha and Irpin, as well as the use of the word “war” instead of “special operation”. The activist has been in jail since June 3.
