Elena Pronicheva appointed General Director of the Tretyakov Gallery

Elena Pronicheva has been appointed as the new General Director of the Tretyakov Gallery, replacing Zelfira Tregulova, who has been in charge of the gallery since 2015, in this position, the Ministry of Culture reported . Elena Pronicheva previously served as director of the Polytechnic Museum.

“Elena Pronicheva will replace Zelfira Tregulova, who is leaving the post of general director of the museum due to the expiration of her employment contract,” the ministry said.

According to the media, 39-year-old Elena Pronicheva is the daughter of the former head of the FSB Border Service, Vladimir Pronichev. Pronicheva has been the director of the Polytechnic Museum since December 2020. Prior to this position, she worked as Executive Director of the Jewish Museum and Tolerance Center in Moscow since 2013.

The website of the Ministry of Education and Science indicates that in different years Pronicheva worked in the Committee on Budget and Taxes in the State Duma, in the department of foreign economic activity of Gazprom, Gazprombank and at VDNKh (VVTs).

A few days ago, the Ministry of Culture sent a letter to the Tretyakov Gallery, in which it demanded a report on the compliance of the museum's exposition with "spiritual and moral values."
