The entrance of a residential building in Novosibirsk collapsed after a gas explosion. Three people died

Update: the number of victims of the explosion has increased to five, RBC reports , citing the Ministry of Health of the Novosibirsk Region. Among the dead was a two-year-old child.

In Novosibirsk, in the early morning of February 9, a gas explosion occurred in a five-story residential building on Lineinaya Street. According to TASS, citing medical services, three people died.

A fire started after the explosion. 50 people were evacuated from the house. The mayor of Novosibirsk, Anatoly Lokot, said that 11 people injured in the explosion are in hospitals. “117 people are registered in the house, but there are nuances, some apartments are rented out. Work has been carried out and continues on telephone calls – the search for people. So far, the fate of 11 people is unclear,” the mayor said.

As a result of the explosion, according to various sources, one or two entrances collapsed, at least 30 apartments were destroyed. A criminal case has been initiated under the article on the provision of services that do not meet safety requirements.

On February 7, a domestic gas explosion occurred in a residential building in the town of Efremov, Tula Region. The entrance collapsed, killing eight people.
