The prosecution requested a politician from Togliatti 9 years in prison for posts about the war

In the Central District Court of Togliatti, the prosecutor demanded nine years in a penal colony for ex-co-chairman of the Samara branch of PARNAS Andrey Balin. It is reported by "OVD-Info" with reference to the lawyer Zakhar Lebedev.

The prosecutor also asks to ban Balin from administering websites for five years after serving his sentence.

Balin is accused of “spreading fakes” about the Russian army (part 2 of article 207.3 of the Criminal Code, paragraph “e”). The reason for initiating the case was six posts about the war in Ukraine, which he published on VKontakte. Now Balin is under house arrest.

Balin has already been fined due to publications in social networks under articles on calls for sanctions (Article 20.3.4 of the Code of Administrative Offenses) and discrediting the army (Article 20.3.3 of the Code of Administrative Offenses) for 30 and 35 thousand rubles, respectively.
