Anarchist Denis Kozak, detained in Kazakhstan at the request of Russia, was arrested for 40 days

A court in Kazakhstan has arrested for 40 days 19-year-old anarchist and anti-fascist Denis Kozak, who was put on the wanted list in Russia in a case of justifying terrorism. This was reported by Novaya Gazeta Europe with reference to the Deputy Head of the Kazakhstan International Bureau for Human Rights Denis Jivaga.

Kozak will be transferred to a pre-trial detention center. He has already applied for refugee status.

19-year-old Kozak was detained at the request of Russia in Kazakhstan on February 9. In Russia, a criminal case was opened against him because of a comment on Vkontakte. He wrote about the self-explosion of 17-year-old anarchist Mikhail Zhlobitsky in the administration building of the Arkhangelsk FSB in 2018. Under the article on justifying terrorism, he faces up to 7 years in prison.

Commenting on the accusations against him, Kozak explained that in his comment there was no explicit approval or assessment of Zhlobitsky's act, but only an analysis of the reasons for what happened.

Earlier, on February 11, it became known that a criminal case was also opened against Mikhail Zhlobitsky's aunt, who shared poems about her nephew in VK.
