An unidentified aircraft similar to a weather balloon caused the sky to close over Moldova

An unidentified aircraft similar to a weather balloon caused the sky to be closed over Moldova for aviation. This was reported in the country's civil aviation administration, citing the Ministry of Defense. Meduza drew attention to the statement.

“At about 12:30, the Ministry of Defense received information that an unidentified small object similar to a weather balloon was found in the airspace of the Republic of Moldova near the city of Soroca. Given the weather conditions and the inability to identify the object and observe its flight path, in order to ensure the safety and protection of citizens, the Interdepartmental Commission for Airspace Management decided at 13:24 to temporarily close the airspace. Flights are now being carried out in a safe and secure environment.”

On February 13, it was also reported that the US military shot down an unidentified object near the Canadian border, the US does not rule out an extraterrestrial origin of the downed objects, said the head of the North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD), General Glen van Herk. Another unidentified flying object was shot down over Alaska on February 10th.

In early February, a Chinese reconnaissance balloon was shot down over the United States, which hung in the sky for several days. The PRC protested and said it was a meteorological probe.
